Lupus Drug Benlysta Gets Thumbs Up From FDA Advisory Panel

For the first time in more than 50 years we might have a drug specially designed to treat lupus approved by the regulatory bodies.

A FDA Arthritis Advisory Committee voted 13 to 2 in favor of approving Benlysta (belimumab), a lupus medication. Now we await the final ruling by FDA and then comes the outcome of the approval process in Europe.
